Research and development in Akatsuka Group, after succeeding in micropropagation of tropical orchids by tissue culturing for the first time in Japan in 1967, has contributed to popularization of tropical orchids and efficient mass propagation of various horticultural plants. In recent years, through research on plants and water, we have developed "FFC Technology" which improves functions of plants and animals. Expectations have been raised for "FFC Technology" as a revolutionary technique that can be applied not only to agriculture or horticulture but also to every industry.

Now, Akatsuka's Institute for Biological Process Research, while having continued the research on plant culture as the essential part of Akatsuka Group, conducts a basic study of "FFC Technology" and scientific verification of phenomena caused by this technology in various fields. The Institute also works for thorough product control and new product development process for more people to utilize "FFC Technology".
